Jamyang Tsetrin’s Appeal on Behalf of his cousin:
September 14th, 2009I am Gyaljong Tsetrin, and I am a former political prisoner. I worked with my cousin, Dhondup Wangchen in making a film that documented Tibetan people’s voice about things that are important to them. They shared with us about how they felt about the Dalai Lama, Beijing Olympic, and China. Dhondup Wangchen is fearless, so were Tibetan people who spoke out their heart without hesitation in the documentary. Dhondup is now in prison, and he could face trial anytime now. Dhondup is innocent and he should be released.
As a former political prisoner and as a Tibetan who spent most of his life in Tibet, I know why people resist and protest in Tibet. Dhondup Wangchen and other Tibetan political prisoners have courageously and peacefully raised the genuine grievances of Tibetan people. And for that they were imprisoned. I want to plead with you today to act on their behalf, supporting their call and ask for their freedom.
